The University of Cincinnati Men’s Chorus will be hosting a High School Men's Chorus Festival on February 23, 2013 at the College-Conservatory of Music. The festival will give the choirs the opportunity to sing in the beautiful Patricia Corbett Auditorium, participate in clinics with CCM choral directors, meet and spend time with the UC Men’s Chorus, and explore the historic and unique UC campus.
The festival will begin at approximately 9:30am and continue with rehearsals, lunch, and workshops throughout the day. The festival will culminate with an early evening 4:00pm performance for the parents, students and general public in the Patricia Corbett Auditorium. Each group will be given a 12-minute time slot to perform a set of their own music. The choirs will also join together at the end of the concert to sing several combined pieces with the UC Men's Chorus, which will include a premiere commission work written specifically for the combined choirs of the festival with brass quintet. For a fee of $20 per student, each participant will receive a boxed lunch, a Men’s Chorus Day souvenir to keep as a memento, and will be part of the premiere of the commissioned work.
The deadline to register for the festival is October 1, 2012 and there is still room available. If you would like more information and/or are interested in having your group join us in the Spring, please contact UC Men’s Chorus director, Olga Artemova, at firstname.lastname@example.org .
We look forward to welcoming your choir to the College-Conservatory of Music in February and hope you can be a part of what surely will be a memorable and rewarding experience for your students!
