WORCESTER, MA -- When the Worcester Children’s Chorus was founded in September 2008, there were admirable-sounding goals and shared visions. There was also a stated mission: “to enrich the lives of children throughout Worcester County by providing a quality musical experience through training in choral singing …” 

 

Perhaps more than all this, however, Jennifer Kane, WCC artistic director, said, “I love to get kids excited about singing. I think that it institutes a lifelong love of singing.” 

When some chorus members were interviewed before a recent rehearsal at Assumption College, they were asked if they saw music being part of their lives for the rest of their lives. Every member raised a hand.
