July 2 – July 8, 2013:
Looking for a domestic tour destination to rival the finest treble festivals anywhere? Welcome to the magical, musical land called PICCFEST (Pacific International Children’s Choir Festival). Fifteen years of extraordinary guest conductors, fabulous performances, and a roster of 115 participating choirs has garnered the praise of singers, their conductors and tour chaperones who call it “life-changing” and “the most amazing week of my life so far.”
There are still a few openings for PICCFEST 2013, July 2 – July 8, in Eugene Oregon, located in the breathtaking southern Willamette Valley. This non-competitive festival takes place on and around the beautiful University of Oregon campus and Eugene’s Hult Center for the Performing Arts, home of the extraordinary Oregon Bach Festival.
Guest conductor Henry Leck calls PICCFEST “a treasure among treble choir festivals.” Now in his third PICCFEST appearance, Leck will lead the combined Festival Chorus and workshop with each choir individually.
PICCFEST and the Oregon Bach Festival create this one-of-a-kind event filled with inspiring rehearsals, at least two performances by each participating choir, performances of the combined Festival Chorus, and a welcoming environment that leaves participants asking, “When can we come back?!”
Guest conductors agree:
Sandra Snow says, “PICCFEST has established a standard of excellence in every aspect of festival presentation. While aspiring to high artistic standards, it’s clear the philosophy of this organization uplifts the individual experiences of the singers. It is always a pleasure to return to PICCFEST, a place I know has the right priorities for all participants.”
Bob Chilcott adds, “PICCFEST is a premium choir festival! The music is exciting, the schedule is rich with opportunities for artistic growth and building friendships, and Eugene is a lovely setting. Bravo!”
Lynne Gackle states “I had such an awesome time with all those at PICCFEST! Thanks for inviting me to share in some great meuic-making, great friendships, and memorieas that will last a very long time.”
