Oratorio Society of Minnesota presents Purcell's 'Dido & Aeneas' Nov. 2 & 4, 2012

This year the Oratorio Society is opening our season with a performance of Henry Purcell’s opera Dido and Aeneas. The story recounts the love of Dido, Queen of Carthage, for the Trojan hero Aeneas, and her despair when he abandons her. A monumental work in Baroque opera, Dido and Aeneas is remembered as one of Purcell's foremost theatrical works.
