Cordus Mundi Shows Off “Fall Collection” in Two Area Concerts
Bucks County-based male a cappella group Cordus Mundi opens its 2012-2013 concert season with two early November concerts – the first at Church of the Messiah in Gwynedd on Saturday evening, November 10, followed by a performance at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Doylestown on Sunday afternoon, November 11.
The programs, entitled “The Cordus Fall Collection”, showcase a wide variety of music composed or arranged for male voices. Selections include music from Beethoven, Brahms, Bruckner, Poulenc, Britten, Carrillo, Jeffers, Walton, Clarke, and Hogan, as well as music arranged for the group by Cordus Mundi members.
Formed in 2005, Cordus Mundi is comprised of fifteen singers from the greater Bucks County area. The contingent’s charter members come a variety of area singing groups, and the group currently counts two conductors, two composers, and three arrangers among its number.
Cordus Mundi “Cordus Fall Collection” concerts will be held on November 10 at 7:30 p.m. at Church of the Messiah, 1001 DeKalb Pike, Gwynedd, PA, and on November 11 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 301 n. Main St., Doylestown, PA. Tickets for “The Cordus Fall Collection” are $15, with children under 12 admitted at no charge.
