International Choir Festival in Antwerp, Belgium 2013
Date: October 15, 2012
Spring Festival of Choral Music in Flanders, Belgium (Western Europe) from 02 May – 05 May 2013
We are delighted to invite choirs from all over the world to an International Choir Festival in Antwerp in Spring 2013 for the first time, with support from the city of Antwerp and the Antwerp Tourism&Congress. The non-competitive choral festival for all types of choirs will be held in the baroque St. Carolus Borromeus Church, whose facade, tower, high altar and Chapel of St. Mary were designed by Peter Paul Rubens.
Visit the cultural capitals of Flanders, Antwerp and Bruges, who belong to the most fascinating European art cities. They still maintain an unsurpassed wealth of medieval and baroque art. This is reflected in the historical marketplaces and in the streets with their graceful buildings from the Middle Ages through to the Renaissance to the Belle Epoque. The churches and museums are treasure chests full of masterpieces. Walk in the tracks of the old masters, the painters Peter Paul Rubens, Antonius van Dyke and Pieter Breughel in Antwerp and get an unforgettable impression during a boat ride through the romantic canals of the Old Town of Bruges, which belongs to the UNESCO List of World Cultural Heritage sites.
