The Solemn Mass Choir of St. Dominic's Catholic Church, San Francisco mounts an annual Choral Requiem Mass with Orchestra.  This year the performance is titled 'Mosaic' as it is a collection of Requiem and Funeral music that we would not otherwise perform.  The performers are The Solemn Mass Choir with The San Francisco Choral Artists and The Festival Orchestra.  Simon Berry, director.

 

The music is from Britten's War Requiem;  Purcell's Funeral Sentences;  Brahms's German Requiem; Elgar's The Dream of Gerontius and William Hawley's Requiem.  

 

All this fine music in the context of a Solemn Requiem Mass with passionate Dominican Preaching amidst the soaring arches of our gothic architecture.  All welcome.  No charge.
