The Bucks County Choral Society, under the direction of Thomas Lloyd, will present the group’s thirty-fifth annual Festival of Christmas Music at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 5175 Cold Spring Creamery Rd. in Doylestown, PA on Saturday evening, December 15 at 8:00 p.m., and Sunday afternoon, December 16 at 4:00 p.m.
The Christmas program includes the full Bucks County Choral Society, the Choral Society’s Chamber Choir, vocal soloists from the choir, youth choirs from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Doylestown and Trinity Episcopal Church, Solebury, organist/pianist Beth Manus, and the Fairmount Brass Ensemble. John Rutter’s magnificent Gloria is the featured work, along with dynamic contrapuntal pieces from Giovanni Gabrieli. The program also includes traditional carols, Christmas favorites, sing-alongs, and more.
Brass Ensemble preludes will begin one half-hour before concert time at both performances.
Recognized throughout the region as Bucks County’s best large choral ensemble, the Bucks County Choral Society is an auditioned choir of one hundred voices, led by an outstanding artistic director. Singers come from all walks of life and with a range of musical skills, united in a dedication to providing a high quality choral music experience for the community.
