The brand new New Hope – Solebury Community Choir, under the direction of Episcopal minister of music and New Hope resident Rick Rosen, gives its inaugural performance on Sunday, December 2nd at 4:00 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 6587 Upper York Rd. in Solebury, PA The NHSCC is made up of members of the immediate New Hope-Solebury community as well as several singing residents of the surrounding area.
NHSCC’s first program features a mixture of unique choral gems and seasonal music, and also includes a few carols intended for audience sing-along. Music comes from a wide range of choral composers, including Handel, Stroope, White, Kantor, Friedell, Roberton, and Rosen.
The Community Choir began weekly rehearsals in early September at the Logan Inn in New Hope, with an early December community concert as one of their first goals. “We’ve got ourselves a genuine community chorus started here,” comments Rosen. “We’ve got a variety of singers with a variety of skill sets, and with each rehearsal, we can see, feel, and hear it growing and coming together.”
New Hope – Solebury Community Choir’s debut concert is on December 2 at 4:00 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 6587 Upper York Rd., Solebury, PA. Tickets are $10, with children under 12 admitted at no charge.
