Commercial Recordings of Your Choir or Compositions

Christmas is coming.  Let's all do ourselves and each other a favor by sharing links to recordings of our choirs or compsositions that the ChoralNet community may enjoy hearing.  Please use the following format:

Name of Ensemble, name of conductor (even if you), Name of composer/arranger, share the Link, a short description (30 words or so)

After that feel free to tell us more about the performance, experience recording it, choir's reaction etc.  I will collect all posted links done in the above format and post them as a holiday listening/shoping list (If Oked by moderators.)

Hello Jack, I tried my best to follow the schema you suggested, but not sure where goes the title of the CD (unless it goes under ‘short description, but I’d hardly think so, though I put it here as well, just in case), and information on the CD itself & availability. Maybe that’s all supposed to be on a link, but I can not find such a link except the old ChoralNet on referred to below. IF that one IS used, I’d appreciate very much having the last line changed to “For more information and online ordering: DonaldPatriquin(a)gmail.com
Many thanks for doing this for composers and conductors. HOPE IT REALLY FLIES!!!

Cairril, thanks for participating.  Put some stuff up in your ChoralNet profile about KAIA.  I REALLY enjoyed looking into your ensemble.  What a well branded group.  I can't help but compare to Sweet Honey in the Rock but with a raucous twist.

Check this out everybody:

Alright, I now have ordered or received Get Down, Rise Up and Freedom Land from KAIA, Noel Nowell Noel by Donald Patriquin (I love Carol of the Field Mice), Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern by Mårten Jansson and the Lightner of the Stars by J.Michael Saunders.

Thanks for your help with my holiday shopping and entertainment.  Merry Christmas to ALL!
I am dissapointed no directors of children's choirs posted.  I would love to have supported you as well.  (Noel Nowell Noel includes some children's choir numbers)

Here are links to previously mentioned recordings by the Renaissance Chorus of New York directed by Harold Brown. These LPs were produced by the late Myles Rosenthal & John Graziano and in some cases have still not been re-recorded.
Here is some of Brown's superb composition as well, heretofor unavailable.
Thank you Mr Senzig for providing this opportunity to preserve this legacy!

SOME CHRISTMAS MUSIC FOR CHOIR AND ORCHESTRA:

The wonderful Nidaros Cathedral Boys' Choir from Trondheim, Norway, have recently issued a CD of choral music for Christmas, which includes two of my pieces, one of them written specially for them.  Here is the link: http://www.grappa.no/en/grappa/julestemning-i-nidarosdomen/.  My two pieces are 'What Child is this?', a new arrangement of the 'Greensleeves' carol, and a new setting with orchestral accompanilent of 'See amid the Winter's Snow'. I understand the CD is currently in the Norwegian 'Top 40' charts!  These tracks are also downloadable from Amazon, or may be streamed from Spotify, where this service is available. There are also videos of these pieces on youtube - see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbSHeDZ7ois and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBNf5avr4aA.

My arrangement of the American spiritual, 'Rise up, Shepherd, and Follow' (publ. OUP) is available on a CD produced by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Choir and Orchestra, called 'The Spirit of Christmas'. The link is http://www.liverpoolphil.com/1126/royal-liverpool-philharmonic-orchestra-recordings/spirit-of-christmas.html.  The individual tracks are also downloadable from this site.

Another recording by the Nidaros Cathedral Boys' Choir, includes an earlier piece of mine, a setting of 'The First Nowell', which was the first piece I wrote for the City of Birmingham Symphony Chorus and Orchestra in 2004. A lively new setting in 7/8 time, the piece is simply called 'Noel!', and is published by Oxford University Press (OUP) - ref. http://ukcatalogue.oup.com/product/9780193432741.do#.UM-xHaWW5z0
Here is a link to the recording, part of an album called 'I Wish': http://www.musiconline.no/shop/displayAlbumExtended.asp?id=35765.  I believe this is also available as a download from Amazon.

Maybe this isn't exactly a 'commercial recording', but my Festive Overture, 'The Joy of Christmas', originally commissioned by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO), is being performed this month by the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Stephen Bell, and will by broadcast on Scottish radio at 2.30pm on Christmas Day.  The piece, which has an optional choral ending, is also being performed this month in Bristol (UK) and in Vancouver, Washington, by the Portland Ensign Choir and Orchestra.
