Take time out from the hustle and bustle of your Christmas shopping by attending a free lunchtime concert at St Martin's-in-the-Bullring. This will be the 9th annual Christmas charity concert held at this famous church, situated in the heart of Birmingham's busy markets and Bullring shopping centre.
This year a number of new settings of familiar Christmas texts will be featured, along with some old favourites. As always, a number of audience carols will be included, accompanied by strings and organ. There will also be some music for string orchestra and a movement from Albinoni's D minor Concerto for Oboe and Strings.
There are no tickets, and admission is free, but come early to ensure a good seat! There will be a retiring collection for two local charities - St Martin's and St Basils, who do great work supporting homeless young people in Birmingham.
Date: Friday 21st December at 12.30-1.30pm Location: St Martin's-in the-Bullring
Performers: Sutton Coldfield Chamber Choir, Bournville Strings, Richard Weigall (oboe), Gordon Thornett (conductor)
