Society for Universal Sacred Music Presents Haydn’s The Creation, Performed by The New York Virtuoso Singers, Orchestra of St. Luke’s and Guest Soloists on December 21 at New York’s Carnegie Hall

The Society for Universal Sacred Music, Harold Rosenbaum, Artistic Director, will present Haydn’s The Creation on Friday, December 21 - 8:00 PM at Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, 57th St. and 7th Avenue in Manhattan.

Performers will be The New York Virtuoso Singers, Orchestra of St. Luke’s and soloists Christine Brandes, soprano, Benjamin Butterfield, tenor and Nathan Berg, baritone, all under the direction of Harold Rosenbaum.

The Creation, rooted in the Book of Genesis and Milton’s Paradise Lost, recounts the origin of our world through a timeless story including many unifying elements shared by spiritual communities across the Earth.

The Society’s website says about the performance, “With conjecture and speculation abounding about the alleged end of the world on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, Society for Universal Sacred Music Founder and President Roger Davidson, along with Artistic Director Harold Rosenbaum, came up with a fitting way to refocus attention on what really matters: A celebration of the universal miracle that is the world we all share.”

Maestro Rosenbaum added, “I cannot imagine a better celebration of human life, or a better day to do it!”

Tickets for the December 21 performance range from $17.50 to $100. For tickets, call CarnegieCharge at 212-247-7800 or visit http://www.carnegiehall.org/Calendar/2012/12/21/0800/PM/The-New-York-Virtuoso-Singers/.
