Usdan Center 1/27 Open House for 2013 Season
Date: December 31, 2013
Location: New York, USA
Choir type: Children's and Youth Choirs
A full program of Junior and Senior Chorus is included at Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts, the nationally renowned summer arts day camp, which has introduced the arts to more than 60,000 children. Students perform in the 1,000-seat McKinley Ampitheater, often with full orchestra. Programs have included such works as "Carmina Burana," the children's opera "Brundibar" and Ernest Bloch's rarely-performed "Sacred Service." There is also the Jazz Chorus performing popular works.
More than 1600 students ages 6-18 from New York City and throughout the Tri-State Area have attended Usdan's 200-acre woodland campus each summer for 45 seasons, transported by air-conditioned buses.
Open Houses give families information on Usdan's more than 40 different programs and let them tour the campus. This year, there is a tuition freeze (pay last year's rates, a $100 savings) through January 31, due to Hurricane Sandy.
