2014 AMP Nationals for Children's & Youth Choirs | NYC | Carnegie Hall | June, 2014
Date: January 10, 2013
Location: New York, USA
Choir type: Children's and Youth Choirs
Choirs of America is thrilled to announce the inaugural American Music Performance Nationals for Children's & Youth Choirs. Taking place in New York City and Carnegie Hall from June 19 - 21, 2014, the AMP Nationals revolutionizes the choral competition festival model for all participating choral programs. During the event, participating choirs will enjoy adjudicated performances, on-stage performance reviews, observational requirements, and full one-hour clinics (COA's Master Clinicians include Lynne Gackle, Patrick Freer, Sandra Babb, and Gene Peterson). The program also features our highly-acclaimed Premiere! Workshop with a known composer, along with Xchange - A Meeting of Voices (choir exchange performances).
On the final day, Grant Gershon (director, Los Angeles Master Chorale and resident conductor, L.A. Opera) takes over to lead a massed choir rehearsal followed by a spectacular prism concert in Carnegie Hall. Participating choral programs bringing 60 or more singers will also have a "Spotlight Opportunity" during the concert. As with all COA events, the 2014 AMP Nationals is surprisingly affordable at just $189.00 per singer (directors and chaperones are free). For more details and an application, please visit us at www.AMPNationals.org. Space is limited and this program will fully subscibe, so we hope to hear from you soon!
