CANTUS performs at Haverford College

On Sunday, February 3 at 3 PM, the Guest Artist Series at Haverford College presents the renown all-male a cappella group CANTUS! Their program "On the Shoulders of Giants" features masterworks by composers and songwriters—from Sibelius and Schubert to Lennon and McCartney—who continue to inspire each generation of new musicians. They will be joined by the Chamber Singers of Haverford and Bryn Mawr Colleges for a perormance of the Biebl "Ave Maria".
This concert will be held in Roberts Hall, Marshall Auditorium on the Haverford College campus at 370 Lancaster Avenue in Haverford, PA. Ticket prices are $15 (Gen), $12 (Sr), $8 (Stu), $5 (7-17) and can be purchased at the door on the day of the concert via cash or check. Recognized as one of America's finest professional male vocal ensembles, Cantus enjoys a vigorous schedule of national tours, subscription concerts in its home of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, educational outreach programs, and recording. The Washington Post hails the ensemble's sound as having both "exalting finesse" and "expressive power," and refers to their music-making as "spontaneous grace." The ensemble is known for adventurous programming spanning many periods and genres, including chant, Renaissance music, contemporary works, art song, folk, spirituals, world music, and pop.
