Restoration Cathedral Music: A Symposium
Western Illinois University
19 March 2013

Western Illinois University is delighted to announce a one-day symposium on Restoration cathedral  music (1660-1710), in celebration of the university’s recent acquisition of a rare and valuable late-seventeenth-century manuscript.  The manuscript of Anglican service music is in the hand of William Turner (1651-1740), a leading figure in the musical life of the period.  Speakers include Nicholas Temperley (University of Illinois), Robert Shay (University of Missouri, Columbia), Stacey Jocoy (Texas Tech University), Jennifer McNabb (Western Illinois University), and Bryan White (Leeds University, UK).  Scheduled sessions will include a performance by the WIU University Singers directed by James Stegall.

There is no fee to attend this event, but registration is requested.
