St Mary the Virgin, Henley-on-Thames, RG9 2AU
2013 is Verdi’s bicentenary, and Henley Choral Society offers two wonderful opportunities to sing the magnificent Verdi Requiem this year. The Verdi Requiem Workshop is on Saturday 27th April 2013 in the beautiful surroundings of St Mary the Virgin, Henley-on-Thames, RG9 2AU.
You’ll be working under inspirational conductor Will Dawes, with accompanist David Smith and soloists Phillipa Boyle, Carris Jones, Will Blake and Peter Collins.
Will Dawes is Conductor of Bath Choral Society, Conductor of Henley Choral Society, Director of Ensemble 45 and Chorusmaster for Ludus Baroque. Will performs around the world with internationally acclaimed and multiple-Grammy-nominated vocal ensemble, Stile Antico.
Singers joining the Workshop can also attend additional rehearsals and take part in the Verdi Requiem at the magnificent Concert Hall, Reading, on Saturday 8th June 2013, with Henley Choral Society, Southern Sinfonia, Sophie Bevan, Kate Symonds Joy, David Butt-Phillips and James Oldfield. This follows Henley Choral Society’s sell-out performance of The Creation in Reading in 2012.
Workshop tickets £15.00 early-bird booking before 31st March 2013, £20.00 after that date. Score hire included or bring your own (preferably Ricordi Edition.) The Workshop is free for all under 25’s.
Tickets for audience for performance: £5.00. Download the application form containing full details at www.henleychoralsociety.org.uk
