Canoldir Male Choir are a Premier Choir based in Birmingham formed in 1966 when a small group of Welsh exiles and some English friends decided to establish a male voice choir. The name CANOLDIR is Welsh for 'the Middle Land'; our crest shows the Dragon of Wales and the Lion of England and we are very proud of this joint heritage both in our membership and in our musical repertoire.
The choir has a proud history which spans more than 45 years, during which we have performed in many prestigious events and venues both in the UK and abroad.
We continue to work to raise money for charities through our concerts and also make it a priority to encourage the musical youth of Birmingham by giving them a platform from which to showcase thier talents. As such many of our concerts include talented young musicians and singers from local schools and also up and coming stars from The Birmingham Conservatoire.
We perform our annual concert at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham and over the years have worked with guest artists including Bryn Terfel, The Opera Babes, Aled Jones and Elin Manahan Thomas.
