Would you combine 5th graders with 6th & 7th?

Hello again!

I have a totally awesome 4th grade class. Almost all 77 of them sing in tune. Shocker. And they are quick to learn concepts. As a matter of fact, in my 42-voice auditioned choir of 4 - 7 graders, 17 of them are 4th graders.

I was planning on combining the 4th & 5th graders together for a choir for the concert and the 6th & 7th graders together. But now I'm wondering if I should leave the 4th graders to themselves and put the 5th graders with the 6th & 7th graders, thereby having the changed voices of the 5th graders in with their older counterparts.

What do you think?

I think if there are some changing / changed voices in class 5, then yes, leave class 4 by itself, and combine 5 / 6 / 7.
