Arthur Harris arrangements
>> Does anyone know where I may find the music for O Come, Little Children arranged by Arthur Harris? This is on the Philadelphia Orchestra's recording The Glorious Sounds of Christmas. I have tried Kalmus and it is not listed in their catalog.

1. The Harris arrangement “O Come, Little Children” score and parts was LOST by the Columbia record company after 1962.
2. This is one of 21 lost arrangements, out of the 38 different titles created for The PO recordings, that if they can be found might be put into print so they could be performed.
3. Kalmus has reprinted 20 arrangements with the permission of the Arthur Harris Estate, from the material I found in The Philadelphia Orchestra Library and other libraries. For the list see http://www.efkalmus.com/harrislist.php
4. Kalmus has also reprinted the Harris: Christmas; A Medley of Well-Known Carols, but it does not include any of the arrangements that are lost. The different arrangements in the Medley are 1. Good King Wenceslas (Trad.) 2. Silent Night (Gruber) 3. Joy to the World (Mason) 4. The First Noel (Trad.) 5. Deck the Halls (Trad.) 6. What Child is This? (Trad.) 7. We Wish You a Merry Christmas (Trad.)

If anyone has the Orchestra Score, Parts and Choral parts of these Harris arrangements listed below, please send an email to proofferr(at) comcast.net. I have been searching for these titles since 1962 and after this will give up the detective work. The Harris Estate would like to find the original set or any copy that could be used for printing, depending on the copyright status. They are not interested in how your library acquired the material. Just a few years ago an original set of one of the Harris arrangements was returned from a church in Texas.
