Location: Illinois, USA
The Lutheran Youth Choir of North America is extending the early registration discount for its Summer 2013 Festival of American Vocal Music at Mansfeld Castle in Mansfeld, Germany. This is to accomodate the needs of families still considering various travel, study, and performance options for their children this coming summer. The 2013 Festival, open to all high school students (entering grade 9 through graduating grade 12), convenes in the Chicago area on July 17. The choir will then fly to Germany on July 20 for ten days, living and rehearsing American choral music with more than 20 German students at an amazing restored 14th century castle overlooking Luther's boyhood hometown of Mansfeld. The festival schedule includes several performances by the choir at venues in Berlin, Erfurt, Eisenach, and Bad Frankenhausen, as well as ample time for sightseeing, recreation, informal music and culture classes, and viel Spass (lots of fun)! The discounted tuition of $3,500 includes round-trip air from Chicago-Berlin, comfortable accomodations in the US and Germany, most meals, music, and experienced adult instructors and chaperones. Generous financial aid is also available. For more information, go to www.lutheranyouthchoir.org, or phone Philip Spencer, Founding Conductor at (630) 717-9711.
