March 17, 2013, at 4:00 p.m.: Pergolesi: Stabat Mater (Amanda Balestrieri, soprano, and Barbara Hollinshead, mezzo-soprano) and Bach organ works. This Lenten program features distinguished soloists Amanda Balestrieri and Barbara Hollinshead, accompanied by some of the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area's finest period instrumentalists: Risa Browder and June Huang, violins; Marta Howard, viola; Amy Domingues, baroque cello; Jennifer Powell Eig, violone; and Jay Wilcox, directing from the harpsichord. The program will also include two major organ works of J. S. Bach, O Lamm Gottes, unschuldig, BWV 656, and the partita on Sei gegrüßet, Jesu gütig, BWV 768. The free-will offering will go to support the event series sponsored by Friends of Music and the Arts at St. Andrew's. Free child-care will be available. A reception will follow the concert.
