Bella Voce Women's Chorus and Artistic Director Dawn Willis will salute the concepts of hope and freedom in an entertaining and informative program centered around Robert De Cormier's powerful choral masterpiece They Called Her Moses. This beautiful and inspiring cantata about the life of Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad has been newly re-voiced for Bella Voce by the composer and features narration by actress Louise De Cormier. The chorus will also premier an arrangement by renowned folk musician Pete Sutherland of The Bailiff's Daughter - a ballad collected by Vermont "Song-catcher" Helen Hartness Flanders. The concert will also include selections by American composers Aaron Copland, Irving Fine, Paul Basler, Mark Hayes and Norwegian-born composer Ola Gjeilo.
