David Hill, guest conductor Featuring the combined choirs from East Liberty Presbyterian, Shadyside Presbyterian, Calvary Episcopal, and St. Andrew’s Episcopal Churches Sunday, May 5, 2013, at 4:00 pm East Liberty Presbyterian Church 116 South Highland Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15206 Admission is free. A free-will offering will be accepted. East Liberty Presbyterian Church will be the location for a choral festival sponsored by four churches in the East End of the city of Pittsburgh on Sunday, May 5, at 4:00 p.m. The East End Choral Festival will feature the choirs from East Liberty Presbyterian Church, Shadyside Presbyterian Church, Calvary Episcopal Church, and St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. The guest conductor for the choral festival will be English conductor David Hill. Maestro Hill is the conductor of the BBC Singers and the Bach Choir of London. Additionally, beginning in July 2013, he will be Principal Conductor of the Yale Schola Cantorum in New Haven, Connecticut. The combined choirs will sing music of Gerald Finzi (God Is Gone Up), Benjamin Britten (Rejoice in the Lamb), and Randall Thompson (The Peaceable Kingdom).
