Age of Choral Conducting Masters Students

Hello all!

I am curious about the age of Choral Conducting Masters students. I received my BME in 2004, taught in schools for 5 years and taught voice lessons until just recently. I decided to take time off from teaching and school to have and raise my children. I am expecting #3 at the end of this year and plan on having a total of 4. I'd like to go back to get my masters after the youngest starts kindergarten, but I feel that will put me at a disadvantage because I will be much older than I am now and much MUCH older than I was when I got my bachelor's degree. I know it's never too late to start/go back, but I'm wondering how difficult it would be to start on a masters in conducting when I'm 40 and have 4 children in school and am about an hour from the school I'd like to attend. Any information/experiences would be greatly appreciated. I know I have time, but I'd like to keep up on choral happenings and stay up on my history and theory (as well as singing and conducting). I sing in a community choir, but that's about all I have time for right now. Thanks in advance!
