Olympia Youth Chorus seeks Executive Director

Olympia Youth Chorus Executive Director                                                           
Olympia Youth Chorus, a non-profit organization, is seeking a part-time executive director, approximately 0-10 hours per week, depending on the time of year.  We are looking for someone who has an understanding of children, an appreciation for choral music, and an experience in leadership and fundraising in a non-profit organization.
The Olympia Youth Chorus is comprised of four choirs, with children ages 5-18.  We currently have a staff of four choral directors and three accompanists, an Executive Director and Accountant. The Olympia Youth Chorus is an Equal Opportunity employer. Responsibilities include:
Leadership and Management
*Ensure that the mission statement of Olympia Youth Chorus is maintained throughout the organization.
*Develop and maintain organizational systems including administrative, fundraising, and communications.
*Ensure fiscal integrity and sustainability of the organization through recruitment and advertising, fundraising and major donor campaigns.
            *Develop, maintain, and support a strong board of directors.
            *Manage all contract staff.
            *Deepen and refine all aspects of communications within the community-
 from web presence to external relations – with the goal of growing and maintaining a strong presence in the community.
 
Program
(working with the Artistic Director)
            *Ensure a consistent approach to the work with the choirs
*Build relationships with area choral directors and organizations and   develop collaborative opportunities (school tours, concerts, etc.)
            *Develop a plan to expand and promote Olympia Youth Chorus
            *Develop a review policy for contract staff.
            *Plan and implement concert schedules and performance venues.
            *Develop and facilitate an annual Action Plan. (in conjunction with all staff)
            *Communicate with parents
            *Plan and develop tours for the advanced choirs.
 
Qualifications
            *Bachelors degree with three years experience in non profit setting, additional experience may substitute for a degree.
            Must have:
            *Excellent communication skills -written and oral
            *Excellent organizational skills
            *Experience developing and working with volunteers
            *Fundraising experience
            *Management experience
            *Ability to be self-directed and to multi-task
            *An appreciation for and/or understanding of the choral arts
            *A sense of humor
Compensation
Based on qualifications and experience.
