We Sing The World - Choral Symposium at Stratford Summer Music

Location: Ontario, Canada
Voicing: Mixed
Stratford Summer Music and the Laurier Centre for Music in the Community invite anyone who loves to sing to join us in a weekend of singing and experiences that explore and celebrate how choral music and choir singing are evolving in the 21st century!  This three-day workshop features sessions with R. Murray Schafer, Lee Willingham and Gerard Yun.  Perspectives on world music will be provided by Debbie Lou Ludolph, Suba Sankaran, Rodrigo Chavez and kathy Armstrong.

Everyone who registers becomes an active member of our Symposium Choir and takes home the music that will be at the heart of the Symposium.  Pieces for work during the symposium will reflect the themes of the Environment and World Cultures as influences on modern choral repertoire, and will include works by Hatfield, Whitacre, Ticheli and a number of other composers, both local and far-afield.  The final concert will be hosted by Peter Togni, best known as the host of CBC's Choral Concert.

The symposium will take place in Ontario’s wonderful city of culture – Stratford, home of the world-famous Stratford Shakespeare Festival as well as Stratford Summer Music.
