The Boston Cecilia is Boston’s longest-existing amateur chorus, famed in recent years for period instrument performances of Handel and Bach as well as revelatory readings of recent masterpieces, all under the inspired direction of Donald Teeters for the last 44 years. The chorus is comprised of about 60 volunteer singers. Founded in 1876, Cecilia's reputation for stylish performances, winning highest praise from audiences and critics alike, continues under the exciting new leadership of Nicholas White.
Audition Information
Auditions are 10 minutes in length and include vocalizing, sight-reading (on one’s own voice part) and singing a prepared piece (welcome, but not required.) Audition dates are set for the following times:
Monday, August 26, 6:30-10:00pm
Tuesday, September 3, 6:30-10:00pm
Sunday, September 8, 3:30-6:30pm
There are also three “look-ahead” rehearsals with the chorus in June. Potential new singers are welcome and encouraged to attend in order to become familiar with Boston Cecilia. Auditions preceding these rehearsals, between 6:30 and 7:15, are available by pre-arrangement.

Season Information
The 2013-2014 season performances will include Duruflé’s Requiem, choral masterpieces by Stanford and Howells, Christmas carols old and new, and a celebration of J.S. Bach’s birthday with a performance of the B-Minor Mass at Jordan Hall.

Rehearsal Information
Monday evenings, 7:30pm to 10:00pm at All Saints Parish, Brookline.
(Rehearsals begin Monday, September 9th at 7:30pm.)
