Plan music for Sunday services and special occasions

Lead the contemporary band

Lead rehearsals for the chancel choir and contemporary band

Select music for the chancel choir and plan other special music throughout the liturgical year

Build and maintain the music library with new choral pieces and songs for the contemporary service

Plan music for the Children’s Choir and lead rehearsals (as needed)

Plan music for the bell choir (as needed)

Coordinate with the worship and music committee to plan liturgy, concerts, special events, etc.

Recruit new members for the music ministry

Meet regularly with the pastor and other staff members

Attend church committees and meetings when necessary

A working knowledge of sound system for services and special events

A working knowledge of/or the ability to learn Song Show Plus (the software that presents the visual aids during worship)

Give direction to the accompanist

Other duties as assigned

This position directly reports to the Pastor

 

-lead choral rehearsals and a contemporary Christian ensemble

-service-oriented attitude toward meeting the needs of the community

-an inviting approach toward participation in the music ministry

-A Bachelor’s degree in music performance, sacred music or a related field is not necessary but highly desired
-Experience and competency in directing adult choirs
-Experience in leading contemporary worship

-Ability to motivate choir and band members, lead recruitment of singers of various proficiencies and guide the congregation in learning new hymns and service music
 

Salary:  $10,000 per year
