how to reach a wider audience

The concert audience for our three excellent children's choirs in Ottawa, Canada is largely families. We appear at many events in the city where a wider audience hears and sees us. Any suggestions for widening our concert audience? Program ideas? Partnering with other musical groups?

I've been wondering the same thing, although I imagine it's a common problem among choirs and among composers. I recently posted a new recording that's on YouTube of a choral piece based on Martin Luther King's "I Have A Dream", called "Martin's Dream", and would have thought it perfect for celebrations across the country of the 50th anniversary of the speech this August. Yet, there was no response. So the question remains: how does one reach a wider audience? I'm eager to hear you responses and thanks for asking the question.
