The city of Salzburg invites choirs of all categories and other kinds of ensembles (for example folk dance groups with live music, orchestras and other music groups of various genres) to the International Choir Competition "Meet Mozart" and Cantus Music and Culture Festival . The repertoire is free to choose, all music styles are permitted and there are no compulsory songs. For the fans of  “The Sound of Music”, the competition will include a separate Festival category with 3 songs taken from the move  “The Sound of Music". Concert venue are the historical Mozarteum in Salzburg and the the Salzburg Cathedral. 
As a special highlight, the choir directors attending the Competition “Meet Mozart” are invited to a guided tour of the autograph room where original scores and documents signed by W.A. Mozart are displayed. Guided sightseeing tour through the historic city center, which became an UNESCO world cultural heritage site in 1997 and excursion to some of the famous sites of “Sound of Music”.
