Anyone know how to find music by GANNA GAVRYLETS?

Greetings! I came across the following YouTube video of the Kiev Women's Chorus singing "Oy v poli poli" and would LOVE to get my hands on this score for my choir. I don't know if Ganna Gavrylets is a Russian composer or not: Google  searches turn up only the video. I've tried writing to the administrators of the German choral festival at which this song was performed, and I've spent fruitless hours searching for the composer, sheet music, and the choir online. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated! This composer writes exquisite music!

Thank you!

These links may help:
The women's choir page of the Glier Institute of Music in Kiev:
The composer's wikipedia entry:
What looks to me like a choral catalogue with her works in it (I cannot read Ukrainian, I'm afraid):
Number 147 and following.

I hope that gets you closer or allows someone else to take things further.

  Nigel.

After a little more digging, I've found what looks like the composer's page on the East European equivalent of Facebook:

Thanks for recommending the clip. I too enjoyed hearing it.

Joanna,

The choral catalog that Nigel cites in the third entry of his reply does contain works by Gavrylets (Nos. 147-163), but "Oy v poli poli" does not appear to be among them, unless it is part of "Krokovee koleso" (No. 155), described as a "folk concert on popular texts for women's chorus."

Hope this helps.

Martin Morell

What a beautiful song - I can hear why you are pursuing it.    On the last website posted by Nigel, if you click on the almost invisible English flag the site comes up in English.  Then if you click on Music, then on "Printed music collection" and scroll down there is a small forum of questions and answers.    May be worth a try although the category is under sacred music and the piece you are after sounds more as if it's derived from folk music.

Wow - a whole new world of beautiful music opens up with that webpage.

Thank you, Nigel, Marty, and Jane! I appreciate your help. I joined the Ukrainian Facebook and sent Ms. Gavrylets a message (via Google translate). Hopefully she will see it and respond. The choir catalogue is a list, but does not offer an option to purchase. I will update you on any news!

All best,

Joanna
