Song from about 1970

When I was in junior high choral group, we sang a beautiful song by Lan O'Kun. I used to be able to hum the tune, a few words. Now I can't remember anything, even the title. Can someone help with possible songs that would've been published for choirs? We were an intermediate group and I'm sure we did this for a performance.  Even just the lyrics would help me get my memory back. I'm not a teacher, just a wistful singer.  Many thanks. Good morning, Ms. Gibson,

Hope this finds you well and happy.

I'd never heard of Lan O'Kun, so I looked him up on Google.  Very interesting.

Check further a ChoralNet thread on November 26, 2010, from Thomas H. Shellenberger.  He was also asking about Mr. O'Kun:

Nancy Curry's November 29, 2010 reply, states that Mr. O'Kun is retired and living in Malibu.  We dine in that area quite often, will keep an eye out for him.

Based on this very informative thread, you might be looking for music that he wrote for the T. V. movie, "The Littlest Angel," specifically, "The Best Gift."

Hope this helps, much luck in your endeavour.

His wife is Shari Lewis' sister (i.e. "Shari Lewis and Lamb Chop"), and he wrote for a couple of the Shari Lewis/Lamb Chop things as well (according to his IMDB listing).

The 1969 "Littlest Angel", with Johnny Whitaker as the little boy, is out on DVD.
