US-based alumni of the Philippine Madrigal Singers, a two-time European Grand Prix winner, will performat the Ford Amphitheatre in Hollywood, CA on  June 30th at 7pm in celebration of the famed choir's 50th anniversary. The concert is presented in cooperation with the Los Angeles County Arts Commission whose aim is to present cultural diversity in the arts. Philippine Madrigal Singers, has spawned numerous soloists, composer/arrangers and choral conductors. A diverse repertoire of Madrigals, original works, ethnic themes and popular music will be presented by:
 
The Harana Men's Chorus, led by Ed Nepomuceno (ACDA & Los Angeles Master Chorale member)
Inspirare Vocal Ensemble, led by Melvir Ausente (Los Angeles Master Chorale)
Sal Malaki (of the LA Opera and Los Angeles Master Chorale)
Maria Cristina "Kit" Navarro (Pacific Chorale, John Alexander Singers)
Composer/arrangers Annie Nepomuceno & Nilo Alcala
....and many more!
 
The program will be a great way to discover new music, and enjoy some choral standards. There also some interactive songs so audience can sing along, for a unique and enriching experience. A sampling of the repertoire is:
 
German & Italian Madrigals
Choral settings of Filipino folk songs "Ti Ayat" and "Ay! Kalisud" among others
Original works by Ryan Cayabyab ("Gloria") and Nilo Alcala ("Agnus Dei") and other original sacred works
Courtship songs,  novelty piece "Italian Salad" and songs from the Jersey Boys by the all-male ensemble Harana Men's Chorus
Soloists would perform their favored genre, ranging from classical to pop
