Music Folder Storage Cabinets

I see that the last post regarding this was a bit over 2 years ago, but I am just about to purchase new folders for my choir, thanks to a generous member, and they are going to be "The Black Folder" which will not fit into my existing storage cabinets.  Is there any chance that these plans are still floating around out there somewhere?  I found that the stores are still selling them for $1,000, which is impossible for my small parish.  You could email or snail mail to me.  Thank you SO much!

Hi David:

If you don't find the plans, see if there are any woodworkers in your congregation that would make a folder cabinet for you. If you let them know your specific needs, you'd probably end up with something that not only meets your needs but that the woodworker would be pleased to give in Christian service.

We bought new cabinets recently and our "black folder" brand folders fit. As i recall, the cabinets weren't that much (at the time). Check out Humes and Berg??  If they dont need to be portable, consider having them built. A skilled person in your church might even volunteer their time if you bought materials... Choir folder storage cabinets i would think make for fairly simple construction. One consideration: Unless they are built in (attached to wall) these cabinets can be a bit top heavy, especially if you need to include front doors. Some bottom weighting is a good idea, if feasible.  Good luck.
