Pima Community College Music presents the male quintet a cappella group Cantores in the Recital Hall - THE POWER OF FIVE
Cantores is a professional male quintet a cappella group from Tucson area. Members include Jonathan Ng, counter-tenor and tenor; Jose “Chach” Snook, counter-tenor and tenor; Stephen Warner, tenor; Wesley Laird, tenor and Darryl King, bass. Our accompanist is Suzanne Eanes. This concert features different style of choral music from the Renaissance period: motet – Ave Maria by T. L. de Victoria; Tudor anthems such as If Ye Love Me and more; English madrigals – Fair Phyllis I Saw Sitting All Alone, Sing We and Chant It; Folk songs – Black is the Color of My True Love’s Hair, The Gift to be Simple; and Popular songs – Yesterday, Sound of Silence and Bridge Over Trouble Water. Our accompanist, Suzanne Eanes will also perform several piano works from different periods.
