The College of New Jersey Chorale and Women's Ensemble present works of Benjamin Britten including A Hymn to St. Ceceilia, Psalm 150 and the rarely heard version of the Choral Dances from 'Gloriana' with Tenor and Harp. Other settings of great texts by Daley, Finzi, Purcell and Tibbetts will fill out the program. A pre-concert discussion with founding member of the Tallis Scholars, Philip Cave, will add insight into Britten's compositional techniques, text setting, and politcal and social circumstances during the composition of these amazing works.
