Glee groups

Hey there, Im just doing some researach on glee and how it has changed and impacted the community. Fox has a lot to do with creating the glee phenomenon that we have now, but in order to do this do you think it has changed glee as a concept?

I'm not entirely sure if I understand your question, but I will do my best to answer it. As the last responder said the Glee club depicted in the show is a showchoir. I think that the television show has done a great job in bringing attention to music education and performanc ensembles. It has made singing and dancing "cool," which can never hurt when it comes to recruiting students. However, as you could expect from a dramatized television program, it is extremely unrealistic. For students who have never been involved in music and doesn't realize how much hard work is put into it, they will be surely disappointed to realize that you can't just have a coreographed eight-part pop song prepared without ever rehearsing it. This is the only thing I think has effected glee as a concept. Otherwise, I believe that it has helped showchoirs and glee clubs more than hurting them.

If your show choir or glee club is looking for crowd-pleasing original songs that have been performed by choirs across America, check out the patriotic and inspirational songs of Hank Fellows at SATB and other arrangements are available, as well as instrumental backing tracks.
