Chicago Chamber Chor presents Nocturne: Music of the Night

Location: Illinois, USA
Chicago Chamber Choir kicks off it's 18th season of innovative programming and exceptional music-making TONIGHT!

Nocturne: Music of the Night is an exquisite collection of songs that take the listener on a journey from dusk through dawn. Starting with Rheinberger's "Abendlied," three Evening Songs of Brahms, and Stephen Paulus's "The Day is Done," the audience is lulled into the sweet darkness of night. The provocative mid-concert works of Ola Gjeilo ("Dark Night of the Soul") and Eric Whitacre ("Nox Aurumque") communicate the uncertainty and mystery of night. Finally, there is comfort and resolution as the songs of John Rutter ("Draw On, Sweet Night") and Morten Lauridsen (three Nocturnes) bring us to the light of morning with Craig Carnahan's rousing arrangement of "Yonder Come Day."
