For his debut concert HEAVENLY PEACE with the Empire City Men's Chorus, Artistic Director Matthew D. Oltman creates a program that is a musical "oasis of peace and serenity amid the hustle and bustle of the holiday season."   Featured music includes ancient chants, Renaissance masterworks, modern compositions by Steven Sametz and Joseph Gregorio, "This Christmastide" (made popular by Jessye Norman) composed by Donald Fraser, popular carols, and the famous "Ave Maria" by Franz Biebl.

Prior to joining ECMC, Matthew Oltman was Music Director Emeritus of the Grammy award winning male vocal ensemble, Chanticleer, helping to launch the Chanticleer Live in Concert recording label and editing the Chanticleer Choral Series published by Hinshaw Music.  Mr. Oltman now serves on the staff of Distinguished Concerts International New York (DCINY) in Program Development. He continues to lead choral clinics and master classes with choirs from around the globe.

The Empire City Men’s Chorus, now in its twentieth year, is renowned for its eclectic multilingual repertoire of predominantly classical music. ECMC consistently presents concerts which boast a variety of well-known composers as well as newly commissioned works by exciting young composers. As a gay and gay friendly organization, ECMC believes that choral music can be a compelling artistic response to pressing issues within our communities.
