Starry Nights by Candlelight with the Piedmont East Bay Children's Choir
Warm your spirit and treat your ears to the sweet sound of children singing this holiday season when the internationally acclaimed Piedmont East Bay Children's Choir presents the popular Candlelight Concert series on December 14 at 7:30 pm at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Oakland, and on December 15 at 3:00 pm at Old First Church in San Francisco.
Under the baton of Artistic Director, Robert Geary, the Candlelight Concerts - featuring the Ancora, Concert Choir, Ecco and Ensemble choirs - showcases the advanced and highly trained singers of this award-winning organization. The evening features the world premiere of John Reager's Hubble, a work celebrating the fresh view on our universe presented by the images of the Hubble Telescope. Other works performed will be Pekka Kostiainen's Es ist ein Ros entsprungen, Arvo Pärt'sBogoroditse Djevo, Francisco Núñez's Misa Pequeña Para Niños, and two American Premieres by Israeli composer Dov Carmel.
Festive holiday favorites will complete an entertaining and joyous evening of music and song.
