"Remembrance and Anticipation" feature a World Premiere by Donald McCullough

The Arts Chorale of Winchester (VA) presents: "Remembrance and Anticipation", choral selections remembering and honoring people and events, along with selections anticipating the season of Advent/Christmas. The program will include a World Premiere commissioned by the ACW in remembrance of the 50th anniversary of the death of John F. Kennedy.
Written by American composer Donald McCullough (donmccullough.com), "When Lilacs Last in the Door-yard Bloomed" uses excerpts from Walt Whitman's well-known poem about Abraham Lincoln and is scored for baritone soloist (narrator), SATB chorus w/divisi and organ accompaniment.
The program will include Herbert Howell's "Requiem", along with choral selections of Laster, Gjeilo, Mendelssohn, Stanford, Helvey and others.
