UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON CHAMBER SINGERS
The University of Washington (UW) Chamber Singers, formerly known as the Madrigal Singers, is a long-standing choral organization that was formed in the early 1930s. The group gained wide recognition through its conductors, Gerald Kechley, Rodney Eichenberger, and Joan Conlon. They have been featured at state, regional, and national conventions of the National Kodály Conference, National Association of Schools of Music, American Musicological Society, GALA, and Musicfest Canada, and Canada’s national music festival. The Chamber Singers tours internationally, performs with regional orchestras, and is involved with composers in premiering and commissioning new works, most recently works for choir and digitally processed sound.
