SOUTHHAVEN HIGH SCHOOL CHAMBER SINGERS
Southaven High School is a public, secondary school in the Desoto County School District. The school serves approximately 1,850 students in grades 9–12 and offers a comprehensive music curriculum, including instrumental and choral performance ensembles, music appreciation, musical theatre, and class piano. The Southaven High School Chamber Singers is an auditioned, mixed choir for students who have become proficient in basic vocal technique and music reading skills. Through participation in this curricular ensemble, students experience a continued emphasis on developing proper vocal technique, literacy skills, and individual musicianship at a more advanced level. This ensemble consistently earns superior ratings at district and state performance assessment, and was invited to appear at the 2011 Mississippi ACDA Conference in Jackson. Members of Chamber Singers have been placed in district, state, and regional honor choirs and are involved in a variety of activities at Southaven High School and in the community.
