SPIRE CHAMBER ENSEMBLE
The Spire Chamber Ensemble was founded in 2010 as one of the only regional choral groups bringing together the best choral artists from around the United States and Canada to Kansas City, Missouri. Spire focuses on repertoire for voices and organ, new compositions, and period performances of rarely heard masterpieces. Spire has been fortunate enough to include members who also sing with Chanticleer, Conspirare, Seraphic Fire, Santa Fe Desert Chorale, and Trinity Wall Street. Their repertoire includes: Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna, Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms, Durufl e’s Requiem, Bach’s St. John and St. Matthew Passions, O’Regan’s Canticles, Kodály’s Missa Brevis, J.S. Bach’s B Minor Mass, Rachmaninoff ’s All-Night Vigil, Handel’s Messiah, and motets by Bruckner, Brahms, Allegri, Stanford, Gabriel Jackson, Jonathan Dove, Ola Gjeilo, and more.
