Location: New York, USA
Choir type: School Choirs
Choirs of America is thrilled to announce the inaugural COA Nationals for Mixed Choirs. Taking place in New York City and Carnegie Hall from April 23 - 25, 2015, the COA Nationals revolutionizes the choral festival model. During the event, participating choirs will enjoy adjudicated performances, on-stage performance reviews, observational requirements, and full one-hour clinics (COA's Master Clinicians include Eugene Rogers, Suzi Digby, Jo-Michael Scheibe, and Gene Peterson). The program also features school exchanges, vocal master classes… AND our highly-acclaimed PREMIERE! Workshop and Rehearsal with COA’s PREMIERE! Composer… Ola Gjeilo.
On the final day, Z. Randall Stroope takes over to lead COA’s rehearsals followed by an epic massed choir concert in Carnegie Hall. Participating choirs bringing 45 or more singers will also have a "Spotlight Performance Opportunity" during the concert with their choir director conducting.
Because the COA Nationals are highly educational for everyone involved, participating choir directors earn Continuing Education / Professional Development Unit Credit… just for participating with their choirs. Subject to approval on a district-by-district basis, credits are conferred jointly by COA and Bradley University.
As with all COA events, the 2015 COA Nationals program is surprisingly affordable at just $199.00 per singer. For more details and an application, please visit us at www.VocalMusic.org. Space is limited and this program will fully subscribe, so we hope to hear from you soon!
