The mission of the ACDA is to inspire excellence in choral music through education, performance, composition, and advocacy.

Teaching a "belter" how to create a sound they like in a healthy way.

As an undergraduate music education student, I am primarily exposed and taught classical singing.  When I am in the schools or once I take on some voice students, I am sure I will come across students who insist on belting because they like the sound. How should a voice/choir teacher approach that student and try to come up with a compromise to allow them to achieve a sound they are happy with, while teaching them to not damage their instrument?
