Marin Baroque presents Jewish Music of the Baroque

MARIN BAROQUE  Chamber Choir and period instrument Orchestra will present Jewish Music of the Baroque with works by Caceres, Gallichi, Grossi, Lidarti, Rossi, and Saladin, on March 22 and March 24, 2014.  Both Jewish and non-Jewish composers in France, Italy, and the Netherlands wrote these pieces in Hebrew between 1600 and 1750 to celebrate very special occasions in Jewish life such as the dedication of a synagogue, a circumcision ceremony, and others. 
The March 22nd concert will be at First Presbyterian Church, 72 Kensington Road, San Anselmo at 8:00 P.M.; the March 24th concert will be at Temple Emanu-El in San Francisco at 7:30 P.M.  There is a reception immediately following the performance on March 22nd.
