Chicago Choral Project seeks to create a disciplined vocal ensemble of excellence -- following the choral traditions of Paul Christiansen of Concordia College (Moorhead, Minnesota), Richard Hoffland of Millikin University (Decatur, Illinois), and Robert Shaw.

Emphasis is placed on purity of tone and blend, unanimity and precision of ensemble, and sensitivity to musical and textural nuance.

What sets this group apart is its organic sound, unique to the singers in the group, which evolves through attention to vocal production, as well as the seating and placement of the singers within the ensemble.

Chicago Choral Project is an all-volunteer venture and does not offer any paid positions. Singers are asked to participate in the operation of the group, either financially (in the suggested amount of $50), or by offering any technical or organizational skills they feel might benefit the ensemble.

We are currently looking for singers who are ready to come to rehearsal fully prepared (notes and rhythms learned), and who will enjoy a highly interactive process -- which will include taking personal direction from the Artistic Director, in front of the rest of the ensemble, as a regular part of the rehearsal process.
