Choir type: Chamber Choirs and Vocal Ensembles
Caritas Chamber Chorale, a 24 voice a cappella group directed by Barbara Sanderman, is pleased to announce its Spring Concert Series titled Our Hearts Are Filled to Overflowing, for the benefit of the Adorno Fathers’ African Mission.
The concert will include several newly composed pieces by contemporary composers as well as music from the 16th and 17th centuries. Featured works are the sublime “Pilgrims Hymn,” by Stephen Paulus, the Eastern Rite “Hymn of Kassia” (2011) by Roman Hurko, and “Mandatum” (2013) by Peter Latona, based on a Holy Thursday text. Also featured is an exquisite setting of a Dickens poem, “Child’s Prayer” (2012) by talented young composer Elizabeth Lim, and a piece arranged for Caritas by our Composer in Residence, Wayne Dietterick, “Christ Before Us” (2013). Early American folk tunes and Spirituals will also be presented.
With a bit of a Lenten feel, “Our Hearts Are Filled to Overflowing” acknowledges that whether we attempt to pray or mourn, or find ourselves filled with hope and joy we can best express it in song.
The concerts will be presented on

---Saturday, March 15, 7:30pm at Christ Church Episcopal, New Brunswick; and
---Sunday, March 16, 4:00pm at Lamington Presbyterian Church, Bedminster.
The March 16th concert at Lamington Presbyterian Church is part of the Music In the Somerset Hills Concert Series. Caritas Chamber Chorale is extremely pleased to welcome organist Dr. Brian Harlow to our programs on March 15 and 16.
Admission is free. A freewill donation will be accepted with all proceeds supporting the Gianni Diurni Primary School in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa which is run by the Adorno Fathers’ St. Francis Caracciolo Mission.
